Surprisingly, Dustin Diamond has not killed himself yet. He does not appear to be hopelessly addicted to drugs, and he has yet to assault a nostalgic fan while working as a mall security guard.  All in all, our old friend Screech Powers seems to be doing pretty well.  That’s what we thought until we saw this. It’s time to come together America. Screech needs us.

G O D S O N

The one and only Nas appears in this obscure video which we found while perusing youtube.com. Check Nasir before he got his chipped tooth fixed in this short but sweet clip that takes place on location at the Queens Bridge projects.

Cali Knows Crack.

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

We just received a six pack of mixtapes courtesy of DJ Warrior and DJ Strong, aka Cali Untouchable Radio. Blogs were blowin up with chit chat of volume 11 hosted by Ice Cube. On the eve of his first album in 3 years "Laugh Now, Cry Later", kids couldn’t get enough of the mixtape teaser. Don Mega aside, volume 13 merits an honorable mention. Hosted by Cali native Mitchy Slick, it includes production by DJ Muggs and DJ Khalil as well as cameos by Phil Da Agony and Tash of the Liks. Stay up on your West Coast mixtape game at HipHopWest.com. We posted a couple on  Radio 151 for your listening pleasure.

Mr. Brass Balls eases up on politics for a minute to take aim at the World Cup. Apparently, outside of the States people really care about this futbol stuff. Who cares if we don’t sweep it this year? We’re guaranteed a victory in the next World Series, a sporting event that really matters.

The Destruction of Atlantis

Friday, June 9th, 2006

Anyone who is a fan of experimental film needs to check out the documentary Jack Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis.  This pioneering artist was influential to many of his contemporaries in the New York experimental film scene of the 60s and 70s.  Andy Warhol stated that Smith was "the only person I would ever copy."
