Hat Day

True story. I remember when we had ‘Wear Your Cap to School Day’ in second grade. Me and my pops stayed up all night constructing the craziest cap known to mankind. It had a fake arm coming off it, binoculars sewn on, all kinds of crazy details. I had the ‘Most Creative Hat’ category on lock. That was, until Zeke Zverow decided it would be cute to put his back pack on his head and sprinkle paper clippings on top (he had actually forgot it was hat day an improvised the morning of). You call that a hat?! I got robbed.
As painful as Hat Day is for me, this time it’s for a good cause:
New Era teams up with Caps for Kids; an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing hats to children with cancer. "Wear Your Cap to School Day" raises teen awareness of pediatric cancer by encouraging them to support their peers through fundraising efforts benefiting Caps for Kids. The program is targeted toward Middle/Junior and High School Students and is scheduled for October 6th. Take a look at www.capsforkids.com for more details.
