Gurning in the Braffin
Every year Egremont, Cumbria of the UK holds the premier Gurning competition. For those of you who are not familiar with the ancient art, gurning is essentially the act of contorting your face. But don’t be fooled, it’s not all about the ugly. Good gurners are those who show change in their face whilst gurning. It also helps to have false teeth. In recent years, the word gurning has been appropriated by so called ‘Class A’ drug users to explain the face that many people make while on Ecstacy. That’s why, many times, when someone is shown "gurning their tits off," they’re holding a glowstick.
