Thanks to the fellows over at Continuum Books, readers are able to explore the nethers of album lore. Individual whole albums as complete pieces of anthem seem to be something that people, nowadays, have forgotten. It seems ripe for someone to poke their head out and say, “hey, remember these?, these were great”. Not just written by Fans, but enthusiasts, associators, fanatics and conspirators alike, this series comes with the vinyl-file stamp on each and every release. If you want to know who really took that bong hit in the middle of “Shake Your Rump” by the Beastie Boys, if you want to know why the songs on Sign ‘O’ The Times are actually made from three other entirely seperate Prince albums that never came out, now is your chance. Go out and find these, they’re everywhere.

Moonage Daydream by David Bowie

I’m an alligator, I’m a mama-papa coming for you
I’m the space invader, I’ll be a rock ‘n’ rollin’ bitch for you
Keep your mouth shut,
you’re squawking like a pink monkey bird
And I’m busting up my brains for the words

Keep your ‘lectric eye on me, babe
Put your ray gun to my head
Press your space face close to mine, Love

Freak out in a moonage day dream, oh yeah

Don’t fake it baby, lay the real thing on me
The church of man, love
Is such a holy place to be
Make me baby, make me know you really care

Make me jump into the air

Keep your ‘lectric eye on me babe
Put your ray gun to my head
Press your space face close to mine, love

Freak out in a moonage day dream, oh yeah

Freak out, far out, in out

Copyright Tyranny

U.S. Copyright Royalty Board Rejects Webcasters, Embraces SoundExchange - What does this mean? It’s basically a classic case of the big guy trying to shut down the little guy.  The U.S. Copyright Royalty Board announced new rates for webcasting, a ruling that will greatly affect small webcasters who would be forced to pay unreasonably high royalties, rates so high that they will in all probability force all small webcasters to shut down or face bankruptcy.  What this ultimately means is that the Recording Industry and the U.S. Government and are putting in place regulations that will crack down on the diversity of information that is available.  So ultimately you the audience lose out.

Frankmvb Next time you answer somebody in the affirmative, Frank asks you to think twice about how “OK” rose to popularity. A key player in the process was 8th President of the United States Martin Van Buren, who’s also known for wearing perfume regularly.
