A View from 151st St.

Friday, October 19th, 2007

As real as theater gets, “A View from 151st St.” is the latest theatrical production from Bob Glaudini and Peter Dubois featuring Frank151 friends Andre Royo of HBO’s The Wire and Craig “muMsâ€? Grant.

In this world premiere from the team that created last season’s LAByrinth smash hit “Jack Goes Boating,” cops, rappers, dealers, teachers, hustlers, husbands and wives dwell in the rhythms of rap, raw humor, aphasic staccato and live jazz. With an eight-member ensemble cast you’ll recognize from such television programs as Oz and The Wire, such films as Miami Vice and United 93, this unique exploration of language and life in New York City also features an on stage jazz trio.

We at Frank got our hands on a couple of passes. Instead of going ourselves, we’ve decided to give the pair of tickets to the first reader to respond to info(at)frank151.com! If you’re in or around New York City, speak up and claim your tickets.

The show runs until November 4th. More info and a complete schedule of show times here. Read the New York Times review here.

C1RCA team riders Adrian Lopez, Tony Tave, Windsor James and Dennis Durrant, and team manager Ryan Ries were in the house all night. Adulterated “Gangee”

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Feel sorry for these por sods in the UK and elsewhere smoking ganja adulterated with silica, quartz, glass beads, and Taiwanese roadmarking materials among other things that are terrible to burn and inhale. These videos with expert insight from Wales’ 2Hats of “Goldie Lookin Chain”…

Canibus Found To Contain Tiny Particles of Glass?

And from the UK Cannabis Internet Activist website…

“Processed weed? At first hearing it’s a laughable concept, because how could you possibly dilute a natural product such as weed in order to make its weight higher? After all, you’d know immediately if someone shoved a bunch of cabbage leaves among your buds, wouldn’t you? But the ingenuity of the profit-seekers knows no bounds; for some time now rumours have been doing the rounds in cannabisland about a processed weed that even the highly knowledgeable cannot tell with the naked eye that it has been jiggered around with. There is - understandably - some concern about this, because if the stories are true, then people are being swindled, and even more seriously, smokers are facing unquantifiable health risks. Through our contacts, Soft Secrets got hold of two samples of weed, one of which according to the person who supplied us had been doctored, and the other had not. To the naked eye the two samples looked identical, but with a magnifying glass there were certain differences that could be made out.”

“We even hear stories of buyers walking around with magnets in order to check that there are no iron filings in the weed.”

“If I can not or barely see that it has been processed, then neither can 99% of the shop owners tell the difference,” says Herman, “so I know for sure that it is being sold in the Netherlands on a huge scale in shops.”

“A friend came over with two small samples and asked me which one I found the best looking. Apparently, I picked out the one that had been processed! You just cannot see anything wrong, and the smell too is exactly the same as the non-processed one. At first I completely could not believe that there was anything dodgy, but the person who brought it to me was absolutely trustworthy. Only once you looked at it under a microscope could you see that there were weird rectangular blocks on it.”
