After a full decade hiatus, the seminal UK trip-hop pioneers Portishead is finally dropping a new album.  Called Third (because — surprise — it’s their third studio album), the record is slated to hit shelves April 14.

The first track, “Machine Gun”, is already out… 

In case you need a reminder who these guys were, here’s a great clip from their 1997 concert film at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom.

Unfortunately, their 2008 tour has no US dates so far.

This is the kind of creativity that only finds an outlet on the internet marketplace. Cheers to whoever thought it up. 

Of course, if zombies actually show up, we may wish that fucker could actually fire a round or two….

Okay, so this will probably suck — and it looks like it’s going straight to video.  

But at least the dialogue sounds just as memorably inane as last time: “who ordered the stake?”  is almost good as “death by stereo…”
