Pocket your verses

April is National Poetry Month, and today NYC is hosting National Poem In Your Pocket Day in celebration.  Volunteers will be on the streets, handing out poems to the public and encouraging New Yorkers to carry a poem in their pockets to share with friends, family and strangers.  Keep your eyes out.

Since most of our New York fam is rolling the streets, pocketing rhymes at all times, we figure this is just an opportunity for everyone else in the city to catch up.

So get out there and spit some verses today — show ‘em how it’s done.

Also, if you bring a poem to any of the following museums today, you’ll get free admission:

Bronx Museum of the Arts
Museum of the City of New York
Brooklyn Historical Society
Staten Island Museum
P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center
Queens Museum of Art
