Harley Davidson Dark Custom™ Motorcycles

Friday, October 31st, 2008

When you close your eyes and picture a motorcycle - picture a Harley-Davidson - you see this huge bike with big saddle bags, lots of chrome and maybe even some fringe leather. Most people would say no thanks. But there is a group of people out there who, despite this stereotype, happen to like what motorcycles stand for: making a statement, living on the edge, rebellion. And they have quietly been taking these bikes and stripping off the parts that don’t matter. Chopping up the fenders. Blacking out the chrome. All for the sake of making a bike that represents who they are. Less is more. Lean and hungry vs. fat and happy. Harley-Davidson saw this and they stood back and said “Wow. That’s really something. That reminds us of who we were. A long time ago. Before we grew up, grew bigger, and our riders grew older. We were lean, hungry, and rebellious.

Harley liked this new movement they were seeing and wanted to celebrate it. So they went to work. They hired on some new young designers, and they created a bike that young people can actually ride — (that’s new!) — a bike that young people can actually ride in the spirit of the restless rider’s who came before. Harley called this new collection of bikes Dark Custom and said “here young people, we made a bike for you so that you can go and explore this great country. Strap a sleeping bag to the handle bars and go see America.”

“The English is clear enough to lorry drivers - but the Welsh reads ‘I am not in the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated.’”

We’re guessing: this guy assumed the autoreply email he got was actually the translation he was asking for.

The film probes into Perry’s mysterious youth as well as the notorious
events of his peak music production years in Kingston, in which
Scratch mentored a young Bob Marley, created the sound of reggae as we
know it, pioneered a new genre of music he called dub and invented
what was to become “the remix” all while working out of the infamous
