Open Bicycle In Sommerville MA
Zachary Teachout and Joshua Kampa are the creatives behind Open, a new bicycle shop located in Sommerville MA's Union Sq. Open is focused on urban riding & commuting (fixed gear, singlespeed, classic town bikes), vintage & rare bikes/parts/accessories and hand-built bikes. It offers custom fittings from three local, highly talented local frame builders. Outside of bicycles & parts, they are presenting a solid line-up of fashion-forward cycling apparel brands and the lifestyle that surrounds it all. The shop came to be birthed inside the newly-renovated warehouse space that was formerly home to Boston's legendary Merlin Titanium. It's a unique retail store, a full service repair and restoration workshop, a stand-alone art gallery, and a interdisciplinary design studio.
Their design studio, Superbe Collaborative, is currently working on projects that range from graphic identities, a full re-branding of a high-fashion/runway brand, furniture and interior-retail architecture.
The art gallery, Chorus, is currently showing work from published local photographer Justin J. Keena. The gallery will focus on artists, designers, makers and visionaries on national and international levels.
Open is located at:
285 Washington Street, #18
Somerville, MA 02143
Entrance located at the corner of Washington & Hawkins Streets
