Window Shopping Gumball Style

The Gumball has always been revered at the world's most rock n roll car rally, but this year we notched that up a gear, literally. Whether or not one of our entrants was attempting to fulfill that ultimate of rock star fantasies - the piling a plush ride into a hotel swimming pool - remains unconfirmed. But one unlucky driver landed himself with a whopper of a bill after a run in with his patriotically wrapped sports car and the front window of Santa Monica's Viceroy Hotel - Gumball's Los Angeles HQ.

Allegedly, the driver, who will remain nameless, was maneuvering his magnificent motor on Wednesday evening (29th April), when his foot slipped off the clutch causing the car to career into the five-star hotel's facade, where it took out two 12 foot, half-inch thick windows. Thankfully nobody was hurt in the accident and the car, which only sustained a small crack on the bumper and a busted headline, is still road worthy for the rally start on Saturday afternoon at 1pm. It may come as some consolation to the unnamed driver that he has already been tipped to take home this year's prestigious 'Spirit of the Gumball' award.
