Building Crashes Down In Brooklyn

A four-story Brooklyn apartment building that had recently been cited for a crack in its facade collapsed yesterday, forcing the evacuation of six nearby structures.
"It was pretty intense," said Jim Mutton, 42, who witnessed the demise of the brick building at 493 Myrtle Ave. in Fort Greene at around 2 p.m.
"It leaned to the right and systematically came down. At least four to five people were [standing] under the building when it collapsed," Mutton said. "They barely got out by the skin of their teeth."
