Deez Nuts - The Beatnuts At The Hip-Hop Theater Festival

picture-10

This year's Hip-Hop Theater Festival will kick off with an unprecedented theater piece on legendary Hip-Hop group, and Frank151 fam, The Beatnuts. This project was written by long time music writer Sacha Jenkins (of Ego Trip and Mass Appeal), and co-conceived with NYC promoter Peter Oasis of Live N Direct. Deez Nuts, birthed by Hip-Hop Kings from Queens, explores the rich, people-bred traditions that boomed in late 1980s Corona, Queens. Legendary rap group The Beatnuts came of age on these mean streets -- a town smack dab in the middle of the most ethnically-diverse borough in the world. Deez Nuts is a re-telling of this emergence by The Beatnuts themselves, with support from their superior catalogue of music, dance and sound.
