Now Showing In Boston: Damien Ortega's Do It Yourself

A fresh up-and-coming artist hailing from Mexico is making waves out in New England among the gallery space of ICA BOSTON. His name is Damien Ortega and his new show "Do It Yourself", showing through January, seriously redefines the term "mixed-media". (more words and pics after the jump)

Anyone who ever read one of Stephen Biesty's Incredible Cross-Section books as a kid can instantly relate to one of Ortega's main attractions, a blown up vintage car (VW Beetle maybe?). His other pieces cater to art snobs, design enthusiasts and even those who've felt alienated by the art world in the past. With this kind of show NOBODY should be able to complain.
