Hardwood Classic or Hardwood Headache?

Today the Wolves took another step towards the future by bringing back the past? Yep, this afternoon at the IDS Crystal Court in downtown Minneapolis the Minnesota Timberwolves released their Hardwood Classic uniforms and games for this season. By bringing back these retro wonders they are bringing back the great memories of Pooh Richardson and Tony Campbell. The East Bay Funk of JR Rider, Garnett’s rookie year and the only Wolves jersey Christian Laettner got to wear. But it also brings up the bad memories of 422 losses in these garments. Jimmy Rodgers and Bill Blair. Ugh.

But these uniforms were our first love that 89-90 season, and over a million people in attendance (1,027,572 to be exact that Home season) saw them battle the likes of Michael Jordan, David Robinson and Patrick Ewing. They do have a special place in most Wolves fans hearts, and I am glad they are back. Let’s hope they get us some wins this season. I got dibs on those shorts.
