Swollen Members Hip Hop Halloween

Swollen Members is on the road right now promoting their new album Armed To The Teeth. Along with Big B, (with the Denver Diggers' DJ Klaw), Common Market, and Bliss N Esso, Swollen Members are slaughtering stages from Oregon to Ontario. In what seemed like a perfect holiday for hip hop's most Dungeons and Dragons-derived rap group, the tour showed up in Denver just in time for Halloween.

Once again, Denver's intimate Marquis Theater played host to a classic underground hip hop show. The all-ages venue is a good mix of everything—with a solid sound system, a multi-leveled viewing area, easy access full bar, and NY style pizza slices right on site. For Halloween the place was packed with creepy characters and party people ready to ring in All Hallows' Eve with the Battle Axe Warriors.

Unlike in real life, this prison crew had a cowgirl to play with.

Still, I wonder if they ended up gang raping this pig by the end of the night?

Oh, halloween is fun. The Dead Presidents posse (of which I saw about 17 of them throughout the night along with 84 slutty fairies, 56 slutty nurses, 32 slutty bunnies, 26 slutty Alice in Wonderlands, and about 17 just plain sluts) with Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder... "First, take a big step back... and literally, FUCK YOUR OWN FACE! I don't know what kind of pan-pacific bullshit power play you're trying to pull here, but Asia Jack is my territory. So whatever you're thinking, you'd better think again! Otherwise I'm gonna have to head down there and I will rain down in a Godly fucking firestorm upon you! You're gonna have to call the fucking United Nations and get a fucking binding resolution to keep me from fucking destroying you. I'm talking about a scorched earth, motherfucker! I will massacre you! I WILL FUCK YOU UP! "

Soon enough the beats were bumping and the boys took the stage.

Swollen Members always brings their A-Game and gets the crowd fired up.

Gumby was stoked.

Prev-one flexin' and driving the girls crazy. Prev has got some serious freestyle skills right now and murdered it.

The fans were feelin' it.

I don't know Drake and Kardinal... you guys are pretty good but I'm gonna go with Swollen as Canada's best rappers so far. They ran through all the hits like "Lady Venom", "Too Hot" and "Breathe" with the precision and energy that only real hip hop heads can appreciate.

As usual, at the end of the show Swollen invited the crowd on stage and had a big bro down to close it out. The Red Dragons have always been really accessible and know the power of crowd participation.

After the show it was time to boogie over to Shag where Denver Diggers' DJ Low Key was spinning his weekly "So Damn Down" Saturday party.

For some reason the "sexy construction worker/spelunker " was popular this year as well.
