John Perry NYC Art Show

Frank Fam, John Perry is displaying some of his work at 199 Lafayette St @ Broome right around the corner from La Esquina so if you happen to be in the hood getting your taco fix, stop by and check out some amazing artwork. The show will be up until December 29th Tuesday-Sunday from 11AM-7PM

Brooklyn born, John Perry, moved to Manhattan to complete an MFA at Parsons, in 1990. Since then, he has been living and working in Manhattan, drawing and painting its people and the places they dwell.

"I choose to work from life, meaning I don't use photographs for reference, because I feel, for me, it communicates the most real effect. The values "dark and light" that the eye picks up, are slightly different than those transmitted by the camera. Also, I feel the shape of the lens in the human eye, is always going to be slightly different than that of the camera lens."
