Naked Girls Reading Sci-Fi. No, Seriously.

scifigirls

No,seriously. This Friday, March 5, New York heads who are on the intergalactic tip, and are fans of Frank Book Chapter 36: Erotica, are in luck. Burlesque bar Madame X in Greenwich Village will be hosting the second New York edition of Chicago's successful "Naked Girls Reading" burlesque series, and features the ladies of Pinchbottom Burlesque reading excerpts from Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), Arthur C. Clarke (2001), Aldous Huxley (Brave New World) and H.G. Wells (War of the Worlds).

Pinchbottom Burlesque has been into sci-fi for awhile, apparently. Check out this review of a show they did reimagining scenes from sci-fi movies and tv shows with a dirty twist. They've also been into the nude reading thing for awhile -- the last Naked Girls Reading event they put on featured banned books, which pretty much guarantees there were some hot and heavy moments.

Tor.com reviewed that show, and sure enough, things sounded steamy:

"The effect on the crowd, mostly couples, was intoxicating. During the erotic readings, there were hoots and hollers. When Jo Boobs read a shockingly explicit passage from 1748's Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure, involving two women holding a third's legs wide apart for the pleasure of a young man, the catcalls came loud and fast. But during the non-erotic readings, the audience fell into rapt attention. Gal Friday's staccato, deadpan reading of American Psycho was an electric thrill of watching a broken mind at work."

We can only hope the sci-fi selections they make are as dirty-minded.

Tickets are $25, and the show starts at 8:00.
