Frank It Or Tank It Friday: Mickey Factz - "Alpha" (Video)
An NYC resident, Mickey is the star MC of the GFC crew. GFC has also been pushing music by the likes of Stalley, Jade, Melo-X, Theophilus London and more. In a picture perfect coordination of events, this new Mickey Factz video came out just as news broke that he has just signed to Battery/Jive records. Factz has worked with The Cool Kids, Chester French, Afrika Bambaataa, Drake, Travis McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes and others.
Mickey Facts bio on his Myspace page begins with this quote:

05.14.10 2:52PMI really gotta say TANK. I've listened to it twice now, and while the song itself is not total garbage, the video / costumes are. The song is pretty okay. But the lame ass imagery asside I have to say TANK becasue of the assertation that this dude is "… everything that Afrika Bambaataa would've envisioned hip-hop to be in (the future)…". Obviously I could never speak for Bambaataa but this is not anything like what I envisisond hip-hop to be "in 2008, 2016, 2035" or whatever when I was listening to the mighty Zulu Nation and the Native Tongues and other related crews back in the day.

Sorry mickey this sounds more like an old house beat that the guys at Battery/Jive dusted off from one of their 90's compilation cd's and had Mickey spit over it.... we waited all this time for Mickey to come with this? you can do better GFC crew..... TANK IT.
