DJ A-Trak - Dirty South Dance Mixtape (Free Download)

Dirty South Dance A-Trak

If you've followed the career of DJ A-Trak, you know that it's come full-circle, and then some. Not one to ignore the cycle of music, Trizzy (as he's affectionately called) started out as a DMC battle champion at the age of 15 (the youngest ever at the time), along with winning just about every other major DJ battle that exists as well, five total. A-Trak then went on to co-found a label with his brother Dave One (music writer for Vice and current member of Chromeo). This label, Ammo Records, put forth hip-hop, breakbeats, scratch records and various electronic influenced music. He was also part of two VERY influential DJ crews: The Invisible Skratch Piklz and The Allies (with Craze and Kelever).

Then, Trizzy's life got a lot more busy. He moved on to DJ for Kanye West, while honing his own Fool's Gold record label with partners Nick Catchdubs and influential designer Dust La Rock. Fool's Gold puts forth a mish mash of electro, disco, hip-hop and more, and has become a rare electronic label that has the potential to cross over. Mainly proved (as of yet) by their release of Kid Cudi's "Day 'N' Night" (Crookers Remix).

Several years ago, A-Trak released his Dirty South Dance 1 mix. A series of blends that include down south style lyrics and uptempo dance tracks underneath. Check the download link and tracklist after the jump...
