Holiday Wardrobe Guide: Men

Daley.

The above photo is that of my friend Jordon, a stylishly reserved gentleman who has inspired me to put together a Holiday Wardrobe Guide of essentials for all you FRANK followers out there.  His look embodies all the characteristics of a man with confidence, selective taste, and ultimately...cool. With the thicket of holiday season fast approaching, many of you will probably choose to wear a shameless array of white buttoned downs, your "nice jeans", and a pair of dress shoes you bought 3 years ago.

I'm being kind with that description.

However, to each his own.

Although, for those of you looking to develop your taste in style, I encourage you to consider adding the below pieces to your winter wardrobe.  Surprise your friends and family this holiday season by refining your tastes a bit and opting for a more, well prepared look.

The Basics:

A set of undershirts

Colors: White (please don't be creative, there's nothing weirder than a guy with a black undershirt peeking through his white button down)

A belt

Colors: Black, Navy Brown or Gray

Matching socks

Colors: Try and match your socks to either your jacket or pants

The Additives

Oxford Button Down

Colors: Gray, Blue, or Checkered Black & White

Denim Button Down

Slim fit/Relaxed fit dress pants

Colors: Gray, Black or Tan. Please try to avoid anything boot cut, I doubt you work on a farm or ride horses.

Band of Outsiders

Sports Jacket

Colors: Black, Charcoal Gray, Tan or Brown (if it's tweed) and single breasted.

Crew neck sweater

Colors: Be creative but mind the invitation dress code i.e. Business casual, Formal, Dressy Casual, Black Tie.

J. Crew

Sneakers

General Rule: Sneakers can be worn with dressier looks, the trick is to be selective.  No running sneakers, rarely black, and preferably a lighter shade closest to that of your shirt, sweater or sports jacket.
