"Rembrandt With A Spray Can"

Spray can prodigy KID ZOOM will be having his solo US debut in NYC this weekend.

For those of us who've been following this talented young Australian's ascent over the last few years, this is the night that will cement his transition from underground favourite to Street Art's Next Big Thing.

Coming from the world's most isolated capital city (Perth, population 1.6 million), this humble, highly anonymous dude was sorta known for highjacking bus shelter posters and occasionally visiting the bigger Australian cities to paint every now and again - but otherwise, he was completely underground. Fast forward to June this year, where ZOOM was encouraged to make the move to New York after meeting low-brow king, Ron English. English wanted ZOOM to share his twisted talents not just with the (sometimes sleepy) Australian cities he was painting in, but to bring it to the big time - New York City baby!

I will be attending this opening not just 'cause I wanna see my fellow Aussie ZOOM get his due props, but because it is for sure the last chance I will ever have to get in the door on an opening night.
