Frank151 "5 From The Archive" Long-Sleeve Tees Available Now!
We've had the privilege of working with many incredible photographers throughout Frank151's ten-year history. We wanted to highlight some of those individuals, so we created the "5 From the Archive" tee series, showcasing five of the more compelling photos / photographers to be featured in the pages of the Frank Book!
All tees are available in S, M, L, XL, and XXL for $40 each, while they last.
Boogie - "Boxer"
Boogie began his career by documenting the civil war that ravaged Serbia, his home country, in the 1990s.
Boogie's "5 From the Archive" image is of a Cuban boxer and appeared in Frank Chapter 42: Cuba (Fall '10), as part of a photo essay entitled "Havana 2003."
Ricky Powell - "My Mona Lisa"
Many photographers are eccentric, but Ricky Powell is on another level. Considered the fourth member of the Beastie Boys back in their heyday (as a photographer, not a rapper), Rick has shot an amazing amount of music and street photography, mostly in and around New York City. Ricky Guest Curated our latest release, Frank 43: Bug Out! (Winter '10).
For his "5 From the Archive" contribution, Rick chose an image he took of "the last real bum on Bowery," a photo he has also dubbed "My Mona Lisa." It first appeared in "PhD...Push here Dummy" from Chapter 43.
Ellen Stagg - "Annie Henley"
Ellen Stagg has been a Frank friend and contributor for a long time. She's the golden eye behind our erotic "women holding Frank" photo series, and has had work published in four Frank Books.
Though a very versatile photographer, Ellen specializes in the sexy. She teamed up with Guest Curator Chris Isenberg to create the "All Day I Dream About Sports / Sex" photo essay for Chapter 24: Sports (Spring '06). Her photo for the "5 From the Archive" series is of model Annie Henley.
Craig Wetherby - "Poca"
Last but certainly not least is Craig Wetherby. As Frank151 Photo Editor since practically forever, Craig's played an integral role in the Frank Book.
He's shot for dozens of articles, and the photo he selected to be a part of the "5 From the Archive" series comes from Frank Chapter 32: Jet Set (Spring '08). The featured pup is Poca (generously loaned out by then-Editor Jesse Nicely) and the image is part of the "Mile High Club" photo essay, also featuring Jason Lee, Chris Pastras, and a bunch of hot WeSC models.
