NYC Law Passes Smoking Ban In Public Parks
Starting in 90 days, any New York resident caught smoking in public parks, beaches, boardwalks, and public plazas will be subjected to fines up to $100. The City Council voted 36-12 in favor of the bill.
It is a known fact people can consume cigarette smoke second-hand and the city is trying to prevent people from spreading their cigarette smoke to innocent bystanders, who might unexpectedly land into a fog of smoke without warning.
