"Shook Ones Pt.II" Mystery Sample Solved
If you're from Queens and don't recognize Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones Pt.II" as the borough's anthem and don't know Prodigy's verse, I don't know what to say. However, this isn't an argument about what constitutues you as a Queens-ian, but a celebration to the answer of what has been bothering sample and hip-hop heads for the past 16 years, where the hell is the bass line from "Shook Ones Pt.II" sampled from?
Although commiting a cardinal sin (for most DJs) of revealing records and samples, "Bronco" of the hip-hop forum the-breaks.com finally figured out the mystery of the iconic bass line. Ironically, it isn't a bass line at all.
The Queensbridge duo has been in the news over the past couple of weeks with P's release from jail, his new book, and their two new songs with one reuniting the Mobb with NaS after 11 years.
"Queens is in the house represent, represent!"
