Republican Lawmaker Robert Watson Busted for Drug Possession

Robert Watson, a Republican House Minority Leader and lawmaker was arrested last Friday at a police checkpoint for alleged marijuana possession. He was also driving under the influence.
Seems kind of ironic, considering that he invoked a heated debate criticizing pot smokers recently, "I suppose if you're a gay man from Guatemala who gambles and smokes pot, you probably think that we're onto some good ideas here," Watson declared during a speech recently.
When authorities were searching him, they found a plastic sandwich bag containing the incriminating substance along with a small wooden marijuana pipe. According to the authorities, he smelled like alcohol and pot and was slurring his words. When he was tested, his blood-alcohol level was 0.05%, which is below the state's 0.08 limit.
Watson was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled at court for May 11.

10.12.11 7:00PMWell well well, we didn't expect to see that from him? He should have known better. I can't believe that people can live with this level of hypocrisy. Now he should just face the legal consequences, drugs aren't a joke, I spent almost an year in one of the drug rehab centers in Florida and I faced the legal charges too, so should he.
