The Paradox Of Choice (Video)

Hate your job? Feel guilty you didn't "do more with your life"? Think you have wasted your potential? Scared to give up what you do have for what could be? Don't worry, you're not alone. All these are just 21st century woes that are a product of having too many supposed options, in a society thattells you everyone can be a millionaire or superstar.

In this new RSAnimate video, Professor Renata Salecl, a Slovenian philosopher and sociologist discusses "the paralysing anxiety and dissatisfaction surrounding limitless choice" and shows that individual choice is rarely based on a simple rational decision with a predictable outcome. The guys over at RS Animate then turned it into a watchable little film (if you enjoyed this one, they've done a bunch of pop philosophy videos you can check out here). This video takes a load off if, like me, you have the tendency to get all quarter-life-crisis-y at times. Philosophy: helping you to keep it real since ancient times yo.
