London's Burning: Riot Recap
Fires burn in London as riots spread across the city. Last Thursday, Mark Duggan was shot down by London Police in the backseat of a taxi cab. The shooting is still under investigation and the facts behind the shooting are still unknown. However, what is known is that the citizens of London are refusing to take this police brutality lightly and have been rioting in the streets of London for the past 3 days.
The riots began in Tottenham with a peaceful protest but have escalated over the weekend with protestors and rioters setting businesses, homes, and police cars ablaze throughout the entire city. By Sunday night, firefighters had battled 49 primary fires and received 264 999 (London's equivelent of 911) calls between 9:30pm on Saturday to 4:30am on Sunday.
