Couto Brothers Wall Mural

Its hard to come by two brothers who do art together.  The Couto Brothers are two that do it, and they do something exceptional.  Chris and Alex are Brooklyn bred artists that are breaking into the scene and making heads turn. Having traveled around the world their whole lives to places like India, China, Brazil, Europe and Africa, they tapped into a style that melds all cultures. The duo just finished up on a huge mural that they gifted to the city of Milwaukee and its people because "without Mil, we wouldn't have started this thing. Milwaukee has given us the place and the people to do this."

"It has taken some time for two brothers to be on the same level and to think exactly alike, even though we are opposites.  We have created something refreshingly new and entrancing.  It's obvious we get off on colors and we show that. Now we are ready to show the world because frankly, the world needs more color!  The style that we have created (kaleidoscopic) is ours solely and no one can touch that.  Its so versatile that we can do anything with it.  Being more abstract with symmetry or using the shapes and colors to form imagery and gear it towards more thought provoking images that touch on historical and social topics.  People look at our shit and think its beautiful then they look more into the imagery and we have them thinking more about the past and to never forget what our history has shown us. and we love that!  Our shit is so expansive that it can be integrated into cars, yachts, jets, furniture, animation, porn and everything in between."

The brothers have recently shipped their paintings to prep a show in Amsterdam and are going to be releasing a limited run of prints based on the mural as well.
