Amy Gee is simply an enigma when it comes to photography. One of cities best kept secrets, the young artist never waits for direction, and rather follows her intuition when creating beautiful images. Her thought process cannot be explained, and really, it's better that way. Running with a pack of pretty cool people -- stylists, beauty gurus, designers, -- just the essentials needed for fresh content, her work remains memorable and sexy. Whether on flight to NYC for Fashion Week, or on assignment in Chicago, Amy keeps her perspective in check, her camera by her side, and of course that je ne sais quoi with every flick of her cigarette…

And you might know me because...You might've seen me with my camera - I'm a fashion photographer and blogger based in Minneapolis.

The best thing about what I do is...I meet a lot of beautiful creative minds who are passionate about what they do - I've collaborated with great people in the past few years.

And the worst part is...Keeping my own creative juices flowing. Sometimes I'll find myself stuck in a rut.

The most addictive thing in my life right now is...Tumblr. Love it and hate it, but I can't tear myself away.

More people should know that...Quality over quantity - applies to everything.

I always notice when...I'm taking a candid photo and my subject suddenly notices me and my camera. Then I have to wait for another moment…

It'll always be in style to...Knowing what's happening around you - whether that means your local scene or on an international level. Don't always follow the buzz.

But never...To be impolite. You won't get far with a bad attitude. Very unflattering.

Something I will never understand is...Instagram.

The best thing about where I live is...I'm surrounded by my friends. Most of them live only a few blocks away!

And when you come here, you should check out...Northeast Minneapolis: fantastic restaurants & a vibrant arts scene… all that good stuff. My favorite liquor store and my go-to photo place are located next to each other in NE too: Surdyks and West Photo.

You haven't lived until...You've had to shovel out your car from 5 feet of snow.

If… I had followed my mother's wishes and went to med school, everything would be different.

The best frank advice I ever got was...Do what makes you happy.
