The Radical Camera: New York's Photo League 1936-1951
We were blown away by this selection of photos taken from new exhibit The Radical Camera: New York's Photo League, 1936-1951. Taken by a groundbreaking young collective of documentary photographers who called themselves "The Photo League," they helped to establish street photography as we know it, exploring every corner of New York city to find and capture more of those fascinating details that make up everyday life.
Currently taking place at the Jewish Museum of New York, the exhibition runs until March 23 and then is set to tour other US cities. If you don't think you'll be able to make it, The Daily Mail has an amazing selection of photos from the exhibit posted here.
For fans of documentary photography, Ricky Powell could just be The Photo League's long-lost grandson. See the Chapter the charismatic street snapper curated for us in Chapter 43: Bug Out!
