Our good friends at No Mas just gave us the heads up on their new online video series, The Undercard.   Check the premiere episode, featuring Kid Chocolate — one of NYC’s hardest hitters:

Each new episode will explore the hidden stories of the boxing world; untold tales of “up and coming prospects, down and out train wrecks, unsung cut men, promoters on the make, refs not on the take, Vegas and AC late night shake and bake.”  Sounds promising, doesn’t it?  Frank will be tuning in regularly. 

MF Grimm’s new graphic memoir is out.  The book tells his life story — from Sesame Street to New York streets, from bullets to jail, to freedom and starting up Day By Day Entertainment — all in comic book style.   Now he’s doing the rounds promoting the book…  but who’d predict he’d be all over public radio?  His interview on NPR’s Fresh Air is worth repeat listens:

Retired football player turned broadcaster Tiki Barber was up in the offices of NoMas last week, interviewing Chris Isenberg (All Star Guest Curator of Frank Book 24 - the Sports chapter), for a Today Show segment that is scheduled to run tomorrow morning, September 28.

MEGAGEM can be seen up and down the West Coast bouncing from shop to shop, or at the hottest parties behind some of the Bay Area’s best up and coming artists. But when he’s not handling his biz he can be found at work. Not only is he going hard on his own projects, he also holds down shop duties and distribution for HUF, San Francisco’s most exclusive and controversial boutique. FRANK got a chance to find out where he finds inspiration for his latest ventures and if he will ever quit his day job.

Crooks & Castles took Frank151 on a trip to check out the Compton Swap Meet. Crooks’ founder Dennis Calvero, had previously sited the swap meet as an early influential breeding ground where he and his friends first experimented with designing and producing their own clothing. Now at the helm of the world class Crooks & Castles brand, Calvero returned to stroll the aisles of the Compton Swap Meet, reflecting and sharing his recollections on the Southern California  swap meet tradtion.
