The Beatards, known for their unforgettable Mixtape Riot! parties and various DJ residencies in the L.E.S. and Brooklyn, just dropped their first official release… It’s the BIG BAD BEAT! This nine track EP is a fast-paced hip-hop/electro/funked out brew that will keep heads nodding and hipster club kids moving. In case you aren’t familiar, the Beatards crew consists of DJ O, Chuck Wild and UTK the INC. Check their website or myspace for a taste, the complete EP will be available shortly on iTunes and CD Baby. It’s also worth noting that Chuck Wild contributes to the amazing Captain’s Crate blog, courtesy of the VIA crew, which is always on point with classic soul and R&B joints.

The Mao show continues through Jan. 11. There’s also a related film series, with an installment set for this Saturday.
