Set in the thriving and stylin' U Street Corridor, Jin is an ultra-plush Eastern-influenced lounge with a seductive vibe. A rather gray, nondescript exterior doesn't set you up for Jin's coolness factor. The inside decor is done up in clean lines and warm Asian tones. A sleek back bar is flanked by an intimate candlelit lounge with low, red leather couches and white ottomans. The food at Jin is as sexy as the setting. The Asian/soul fusion fare is appetizers only and includes rock shrimp lollipops (skewered shrimp marinated in a spicy almond sauce) and Jin soul rolls (stuffed with bok choy, mushrooms and carrots and served with a sweet chile dipping sauce). A fabulous cocktail list includes adventurous martinis (mango, apple, lychee and pomegranate) and champagne of all sorts. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the largely single crowd is made up mainly of trendy thirty somethings.
