There are all kinds of so called “high-profile” clubs around the country. Most of them will have you wait outside the velvet rope for an hour only to have the juiced-up doorman critique your wardrobe, then the snotty guest list girl wearing too much make up will act more important than she really is, and finally the wanna-be actress/model (bitter waitress) will take your all money for overpriced bottle service. Beta in Denver, CO is not one of these clubs.

Created by the music fiends over at beatport.com just over a year ago, Beta is quickly gaining a reputation with DJs as one of the best nightclubs in the country. In fact, it’s the only club in North America with the new FUNKTION-ONE Dance Array 4 Speaker Stack System, and even hired an acoustical engineer to maximize sonic purity. The design is futuristic and classy without the pompous attitude, the bartenders are hot and the door guys welcome all types—from the hair-gelled Ed Hardys to the sneakers and jeans raver kids.

While hosting some of the world’s best DJs like Z-Trip, Beta also has a great resident line up, including Denver Diggers' DJ Klaw on Noise Fridays. Beta’s also kept up with the times by going green, featuring water efficient bathrooms, flyers printed on recycled paper with vegetable oil based inks, recycled elements (acoustic panels made from recycled jeans) and re-used elements like re-upholstered existing furniture with recycled fabric throughout the club. —LN
