What was once a ratty neighborhood dive frequented by beats, hippies and Jim Morrison is now a ratty neighborhood dive full of sports fans from UCLA. The cavernous interior hides many cozy nooks from which to watch the game. The infamous anti-gay policy was done away with a long time ago, but for a bar in the middle of Boys Town, you'll find a pretty straight crowd. Expect friendly folks who appreciate old-school scruffiness. Saturday nights can get crowded. Barney's offers a huge menu of comfort food: 150 different burgers, 65 chilis, 90 omelettes and much more. Also, 50-cent pool games, popular karaoke nights and an excellent happy hour keep the crowds happy. With 50 beers on tap and several hundred in bottles, this is a hops-lover's paradise.
