The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel has been known for silver screen glamour since opening its doors in 1927, as host to the first Academy Awards with guests like Marilyn Monroe. After complete renovation in 2005, this Los Angeles landmark’s grand lobby and spanish facade maintains its historic charm while the rooms were upgraded to modern standards. Now a Thompson Hotel, The Roosevelt lives up to the hotel group’s reputation of classic comfort mixed with modern design, something they like to call “urban luxury”. Whatever you call it, these spots are always the jump off, whether it’s Above Allen at the Thompson LES or the pool at The Roosevelt.

The Tropicana Bar, as it’s called, is usually filled with LA hotties, cool Cali kids and visitors from outta town hanging out in Hollywood. Wednesday nights crush it with good hip hop DJs and low douchebag factor. Cabana rooms surround the pool and the Dakota steakhouse overlooks the action. The weekends can get a little crazy of course. The rooms, while somewhat pricey and small, are clean and cozy with well stocked mini bars. Room service comes 24/7. Soft beds and iPod docks are all you need to pass out after partying downstairs. —LN

I hope I'll get the chance to visit this hotel, you made me curious, at least now I have some directions when I get to LA. I doubt that it's an extended stay hotel, unless you really are a millionaire and luxury is your thing.
