Today, there's a new Philly label on the scene. Young Robots Records is now animated and in effect - the product of almost a year of hard work by my Philadelphyinz family and our boy Relative Q from RCMP. We're hitting the streets with a digi version of one of last year's most in demand disco EPs by RCMP (which sold out of physical units in Philly almost immediately) and a remix EP of the big smasher Mustache Love.
2010 Snowboard Halfpipe Bronze medalist Scotty Lago was excused from the Winter Games after some (hardly) incriminating photos surfaced.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The fuddy-duddy suits who run the Vancouver Games got their scapegoat. Scotty Lago was kicked out of the Winter Olympics. Yes, kicked out.
Do not believe the party line served by the United States Ski and Snowboard Association, nor the words of United States Olympic Committee spokesman Patrick Sandusky, who said: “Scotty left on his own accord. He wasn’t forced to leave.” Lago, the bronze medalist in halfpipe, was forced to leave, two sources close to him told Yahoo! Sports, and did so only to prevent an even greater escalation of a situation that already had been blown far out of proportion.
Lago is the smiling 23-year-old in the now-infamous pictures of an Olympic medalist celebrating. The photos are kids’ play, and yet because somebody caught Michael Phelps taking a bong hit, anything – anything – gets the USOC’s tighty-whities in a bunch.
Frank151's Photo Editor Craig Wetherby is on location in Vancouver and has been spending some quality time with a few Olympians. He snapped this flick of Lago with Frank Book Chapter 39: Middle East.
Wiz Khalifa has begun his whirlwind tour of the US. Along for the ride are U-God (Wu-Tang) and Jasmine Solano, who will be djing for both acts as well as starring as the opening act. Find them in your city!
Rostrum Records, in association with iHipHop Distribution and FRAKRADIO, is proud to announce Wiz Khalifa's official 'Deal Or No Deal' tour. After reaching #1 on the iTunes Hip Hop Charts in November, Wiz is setting out on this 40 city tour in support of the ground-breaking album. Wiz's grassroots rise to fame has led to sold out shows across the country. "The reaction we've gotten so far has been extraordinary," remarks Benjy Grinberg, President of Rostrum Records. "Pre-sales are through the roof and the excitement for the tour has been amazing to witness."
You can catch Wiz Khalifa, along with support from Yelawolf (second leg), Wu Tang legend U-God and DJ/MC Jasmine Solano in the following cities. More dates to come.

Freeway is about to come back. He's getting ready to release The Stimulus Package album on Monday, which was entirely produced by Seattle's Jake One. In preparation for that, Shade 45's DJ Wonder whipped up a mixtape entitled Freelapse, that should get you amped for the upcoming Freeway full length. The mix consists of Freeway rhyming over all Eminem tracks.
Hot off the press, it's Wiz Khalifa's brand new video for "This Plane"
Wiz has also just announced his tour, the dates are after the jump, and the info on the tour is below.

Leave it to the Mad Decent empire to fake you out by coming with something you may not have predicted one bit. We knew better though, and we weren't surprised. We were, however, thrilled with the outcome of the latest project from the genre-busting label, just released today.
It's no secret that Gucci Mane is one of the most sought-after rappers right now. With this in mind, world-class DJ/producer/label owner Diplo decided to take some of the best tracks from Gucci's Cold War Mixtape series, and have a bunch of electronic/dubstep/beat producers (that he selected) do their magic with them. As if this wasn't enough, this mix is available for free now on the Mad Decent site. Producers include Diplo, DZ (of dubstep fame), DJ Benzi & Willy Joy, Emynd, Flying Lotus and more.

It's good to see a whole bunch of our folks get the credit they deserve for establishing their styles, and branding themselves amongst the world of bombers and writers. The movie Bomb It spans the world, featuring writers in eleven different countries, and exploring their world, a world unknown and not understood by the masses. See the whole film below, or on Bablegum.com
Musical artist Kenna decided to embark on an epic journey this January, and vowed to climb the world's biggest mountain on our earth, Mount Kilimanjaro. The goal was not only to climb a mountain, but to spread awareness about one of our world's biggest problems, the lack of clean drinking water in the lives of billions of people. Kenna decided to call on a whole bunch of "friends" to do this with him, including rapper Lupe Fiasco, actress Jessica Biel, Alexandra Cousteau, and our girl Santi White, also known as Santigold. Today, on their sixth day, they have made it to the top of the mountain! Check out Santi's feature in this video.
They have been posting youtube video, tweeting, blogging and just generally spreading the word the entire way. Check out the super hi-tech, and superbly designed site Summitonthesummit.com that is tracked everything about their mission, from the conditions on the mountain, to their day to day happenings, to pictures, to all of their tweets. And please give to this cause if you can

Disturbing seems to be the theme of Major Lazer's new video for Keep It Going Louder. Director Eric Wareheim, who was also the mastermind behind Pon De Floor, shot another visual journey featuring Diplo, Nina Sky, Skerrit Bwoy, and the ugliest women we've ever seen. Some of us can't get their image out of our heads!

Ever-celebrated and accomplished musician and soul singer Teddy Pendergrass died yesterday after a long fight with cancer. Teddy was an integral part of the Philly soul revolution, and will forever be considered one of the top soul and r&b singers and musicians ever. One of his bigger acheivments was being able to change with the times during the late 70's and early 80's, a time when the search for commercial sound and appeal can kill a career. Everyone turn on your local r&b station today and give it up for soul.
