Everyone Loves sneakers, so why not throw a huge event dedicated to them? This past friday R.Sole did just that. The 1st annual Sneaker Showdown took place 11-20-09 DRINKS, MUSIC, AND SOLE WAS PROVIDED. The event was about three hours long and there was about 75 plus people who attended. Thats a lot of folks when the store is fairly narrow. During the event there was a contest with the categories of Best Looking, Most Rare, and Most Unique. Being a judge of that I would say it wasn't easy but it was crazy fun. Here are some pics that are going to make you hate yourself for missing out of such a dope event. Just keep your ears clean and eyes open for more events like this in the near future.

This weekend St. Louis Bike Polo hosted a 23 hour lock in at the Skatium.  80 + people showed up from Florida, Colorado, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri, all ready for some friendly polo matches and a good time.  Friends from urbanvelo.org andFleetVelo were in attendance and participating.  Around midnight there was a little game of foot-down and the first annual breaking of the party van pinata.  It was an all around good time, and a great addition to the ever-expanding bike polo culture and community.  Big ups go to everyone who helped put it together, and everyone that came out to play and party.

The London Street Art Anthology features the work of an insane amount of British and international talent. Photographer Alex Macnaughton took an all-encompassing approach to capturing the street art that fills his book. Street artists are not always the easiest folks to track down, but Macnaughton managed to snag a couple in order to provide anecdotes of their efforts. McNaughton stays true to his book's title, and captures the street's art, from stencil pieces to wheat-pastes and mosaics to gum stamps. Work is featured from artists such as Jef Aerosol, Faile, Focus, Redlock, copyright!, cartrain, and more. Also visible in the anthology is Frank151 infiltrator Space Invader who we interviewed for Chapter 19: Disruptive Pattern Material. Be sure to check out the interview here.
